Get results in days, not monthsResults in days, not monthsA home builder's site has an unusual task. It must satisfy a person who is just looking at floor plans, a person who is checking whether you are legitimate and a person who is ready to book a consultation, often in the same visit. It has to show beautiful photography without being slow, explain a complicated process in plain language and make the next step feel easy and safe. This page covers the pages, features and habits that make that work, including what to put on each page and what to leave out.
Pages
| Page | What it contains | Who it is for |
|---|---|---|
| Home | Who you are, what you build, where, a few strong projects and a clear first step | Everyone |
| Plan library | Filterable plans by size, bedrooms, style and levels, each with its own page | Community buyers and plan shoppers |
| Plan detail | Photos, floor plans, room dimensions, options, where it is offered | Serious plan shoppers |
| Communities | Each community with location, plans, lots, finishes and sales office details | Community buyers |
| Quick move-in homes | Current inventory with status, photos and timeline | Buyers who need to move soon |
| Portfolio | Finished custom homes grouped by style, with stories and locations | Custom buyers |
| Build on your lot | How lot evaluation, design and pricing work for owners of land | Lot owners |
| Process | Phases from consultation to move-in, who does what and how you communicate | Everyone doing diligence |
| Design center and selections | How choices are made, allowances and timing | Buyers who worry about decisions |
| Financing | A plain explanation of construction loans with partner lender introductions | Buyers new to building |
| Warranty and service | What your contract says and how requests are handled | Cautious buyers |
| Reviews | Owner reviews with permission and links to third-party platforms | Shortlisters |
| About and team | Principals, project managers and licenses | Anyone checking you out |
| Contact and visit | Forms, phone, hours, directions and calendar | Ready buyers |
Not every home builder needs all fourteen. A one-community home builder may fold several together, and a pure custom builder may skip inventory.
The plan library
Many people cannot read an architectural drawing, so floor plans have to be easy to understand. Show the drawing and also describe it in words: where the primary suite sits, how the kitchen relates to the family room, whether there is a main-level study. Offer filters people actually use: square footage, number of bedrooms and bathrooms, single-story or two-story, garage size, lot width. Make sure each plan has its own address so people can bookmark, share and be found for it.
Photographs matter, but so does honesty. Show real finished houses, label elevations and options and be clear when an image is a rendering. If a plan has different looks in different communities, say so. Add a visible way to ask about a plan, ideally a short form that carries the plan name to your sales team so they do not have to ask what the person was looking at.
Performance deserves attention. A gallery with forty uncompressed images is a perfect way to lose a phone user. We size and compress images, load them as the visitor scrolls and test on real devices.
Trust
Verifiable
The license your state requires, if any, and the coverage you carry, stated plainly with a way to confirm.
Plain language
What is covered, for how long, who administers it and how to submit a request, taken from your actual documents.
Names and faces
The people a buyer will deal with, such as the project manager and superintendent, and how long they have worked with you.
With sources
Real comments with links to where they were posted, and an honest range of experiences.
Calendar and communication
How you update clients, what a typical week looks like and how decisions are tracked.
Real addresses
Your office, community sales centers and association memberships, without padding.
These pages also help search. See how plan, community and project pages are found.
Forms and visits
Many home builder sites use a form that reads like a mortgage application: budget, timeline, lot status, financing, a description of the project and three phone numbers. Most visitors close the tab. A better form asks for a name, a way to reply and one question that helps your team prepare, such as whether they own land or are looking for it. Anything else can be asked on the phone.
Offer different paths for different moods. A person who just wants to look should be able to request a plan guide or visit a model without talking to a salesperson. A person who is ready should be able to book a consultation on a calendar. A person who prefers to talk should see a tap-to-call number. Whatever they choose, confirm what happens next and by when.
Do not gate floor plans or prices behind a form unless you have decided that a lead list matters more than the people who will simply leave. Make a deliberate choice, and test it.
Tracking
| Measure | Why | How we capture it |
|---|---|---|
| Plans and communities viewed | Shows what interests each visitor, which helps a salesperson prepare | Page-level analytics and form fields that carry the page |
| Calls from the site | Phone is how many serious buyers start | Tracking numbers tied to the source and page |
| Forms started and completed | Reveals where people drop off | Event tracking on each step |
| Consultations and visits booked | A better measure than raw leads | Calendar bookings tied to the source |
| Source of each contract | Lets you judge channels honestly months later | CRM fields filled by your team and reviewed monthly |
Build
We review your plans, communities, photography and how you sell, then agree on pages and priorities.
We create layouts and write the pages, using your project details and real language from your sales team.
The site is built to be fast and tested on phones and common browsers, with forms and tracking verified.
We publish, forward old addresses correctly and keep improving based on what visitors do.

Photography brief
| Shot | Where it is used | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Front elevation in good light | Plan page, portfolio, ads, Maps | Shoot a straight-on and an angled view |
| Entry and main living area | Portfolio and community pages | Wide, level, with natural light |
| Kitchen from two angles | Plan page and social | Kitchens attract the most attention, so give them time |
| Primary suite and bath | Plan page | Show the layout, not just the finishes |
| A construction detail | Process page and content | Framing, insulation or a structural connection, before it is covered |
| The house on its lot | Lot-owner page | Shows how the design responds to slope, trees or views |
| Team on site | About page and Maps | Real people, in safe and appropriate gear |
Always get the owners' written permission before publishing images of their house.
Speed, access and upkeep
Image-heavy sites are slow by nature, and slowness is a quiet killer of inquiries. We keep the first screen light, load the rest of a gallery as the visitor scrolls and serve images sized for the device. Video is embedded in a way that does not drag the page down. We test on a mid-range phone on an ordinary connection, because that is where many people start.
Accessibility matters too, both for the people who use screen readers or need larger text and for the search engines that read the same markup. Descriptive alt text, readable contrast, labeled form fields and keyboard-friendly menus are part of the build, not an afterthought. A site that works for everyone works better for your buyers too.
Finally, upkeep. Inventory changes weekly, community releases change monthly and incentives change without warning. We set up a simple way for your team to update availability, retire pages and change the status of a house, and on managed plans we handle hosting, security and updates so the site does not slowly rot.
Details
A custom, fully managed website is included with Organic Growth Gold at $2,495 a month and Platinum at $3,495 a month. A stand-alone site is quoted after a short call, based on the number of plans, communities and pages. There is no contract, and hosting and maintenance are handled for you on managed plans.
It is a business decision with a trade-off. A form produces a list but loses many visitors who would have looked and come back. Many home builders show the plans freely and use a clear invitation to talk, then gate extras like a full plan guide. Whatever you choose, test it and watch what happens to inquiries.
It can help, especially for out-of-area or busy buyers, and for plans not yet built. Label renderings clearly and do not let them replace photographs of finished homes. Check that the tour loads quickly and works on a phone, since a heavy embed can slow the whole page.
You can, if you keep them current and clear about what is included. Many home builders show a starting price with a date or a range for a plan, or explain what drives cost without a figure. Outdated prices create frustration, so only publish what you can honor, and follow your state's advertising rules.
Each house keeps a stable page that changes from available to sold and links to similar homes. Retired plans forward to the closest current plan. That prevents dead ends for people who saved a link and avoids the clutter of old listings.
It is designed for phones first, since many early researchers browse that way. Plans scale, galleries load as the visitor scrolls, the phone number is a tap away and forms are short. We test on real devices, and we check speed on a mobile connection.
